When thinking about a trip to a Disney Park, do you think about what you might need in your park bag? There are usually a few kinds of people when it comes to taking bags in the parks. The ones who read this and say, “I need a park bag?” and the ones that have a sparkly Loungefly park bag ready to shine, and ones that wonder if they can bring in a giant backpack because “you NEVER know”. We have been to the parks as guests falling under all of the above. Here are five things we think you really need to have an awesome Disney park day.
1.Portable Phone Charger
You use your phone for just about everything at Disney. From park tickets, mobile dining orders, and Genie+ to documenting magical moments to checking when the next Florida downpour is about to hit. If your phone dies it will definitely throw a wrench in your fun. Grab a portable charger like this one and throw it in your bag. It’s small, fairly cheap, and as long as you remember to charge it (oops) it will save your day. If you can’t trust yourself to charge it, they even make solar ones!
2. Extra Socks
Few things are more annoying than wet socks in shoes. There are so many fun water rides and to be frank, Disney parks get those tootsies sweaty, so having a spare set of fresh socks for you and your kids to switch out in can really change the mood for everyone. This also works nicely into the next park bag tip.
3. Ziploc Bags (in Multiple Sizes)
These little plastic bags can save you from so much stress. Those wet socks? Put them in a Ziploc. The ridiculously sized lollipop your kid will not touch again after a few bites but will NOT let you throw away, zip it up. Bubble wands aren’t fun to carry around anymore? Zip and loc(k). And one of my favorite tips from Disney Food Blog, bring Ziplocs for meals or snacks your kids don’t want at the time but will be starving for 5 minutes after you walk away from the restaurant. We packed up so many french fries, chicken nuggets, fruit, and even some pizza that our toddler munched on during parades or while waiting in lines. Genius!
4. Band Aids and Blister Skins
Disney is the land of pixie dust, magical moments, and walking. So much walking. It is not uncommon to go 20,000-30,000 steps a day. Pack a few band aids or these fancy blister band aids in your bag if your feet start to get sore. The good news is, if you don’t pack some of these items you can always find them at your resort gift shops or even at the Disney Baby Care Centers. The bad news is, they will cost you a bit more.
5. Water Bottle with a Good Lid
Budget tip, you can totally get free ice water at Disney. This can save you almost $5-6 every time you want to fill up! Bring your own water bottle but make sure it has a good secure lid so you don’t spill it in your bag. You can even get really cute character ones like this to make your kids excited. Another tip, grab a filtered water bottle. There were many times where I had access to drinking fountains but not restaurant areas with those awesome ice waters. Water fountain water, while free and hydrating, doesn’t always taste great.
So there you have it. Just a few things that we think you should pack in your park bag to help you have the most magical park day.
