Meet Liz
Hi, I’m Liz Orton, the founder of Minnie Vacay and travel agent specializing in Disney since 2020. I chose the picture above for a reason. No makeup, no castle, everyone disheveled after a long day in the parks. My sons cuddled close, reading a new book that my husband bought that day at Hollywood Studios. Making memories, slowing down, and being together. Sleeping in a giant seashell in our Little Mermaid themed room. This is a Disney vacation.
We prioritize Disney vacations in my family. We value experiences over things, and memories over stuff. From a second honeymoon for my husband and me in 2011 to two giant family trips with 20+ people in 2015 and 2020, Disney is the way we celebrate.
A bit more about me…
I’m a mom of two boys (Elliot and Oliver) and Disney is my happy place. Professionally, I’ve worked in sales at American Girl Place Chicago, built websites for a variety of small businesses, and I currently work as an outreach coordinator for the Iowa Cancer Consortium. My educational background is in psychology, with an emphasis in children and family studies.
My husband Adam and I went on a second honeymoon to Walt Disney World Resort in 2011, and have been back with (and sometimes without) our kids in 2015, 2018, 2020, 2021 (twice!), and 2022. I also love the charm and history of Disneyland Resort, and have visited in 2012 and 2018. I was also lucky to be able to visit both resorts multiple times as a child.
In early 2023 we set sail on our first Disney Cruise Line vacation aboard the Disney Dream! It was so relaxing but still had so much Disney magic infused, even without the parks. We will definitely be back for more!
Meet Abby
Hi, I’m Abby Batterson, and this is me with my husband Beau, and daughters Lily (10), and Charley (2) on our latest Disney vacation. Disney World has always been my most favorite place on earth. My first trip was in 1995 with my family and it was truly the most magical experience. To this day, whenever I visit Magic Kingdom it’s like I am transported back to the first time seeing the castle. I would also be lying if I said it didn’t make me cry every single time!
Since that first trip, I have been lucky enough to visit as a teenager, a young adult, and a Mom. I am so excited to share the things I have learned from these trips with you to really make your trip as magical as possible! I also LOVE planning and a good spreadsheet so I can help you organize your plans to fit all the good stuff in! I’ve been a travel agent specializing in Disney since 2022.
Professionally, I am the Interactive Media Manager for the SMP National Resource Center where I have worked for almost 6 years now. I have a degree in Family Services with a minor in Gerontology and an emphasis in Business Management. I do freelance social media consulting and management and also worked in the wedding industry previously.
